All of these workshops are designed for early childhood educators and teachers, room leaders and educational leaders who are interested in developing their knowledge on various early communication topics.
The workshops are led by Speech Pathologist, Cathryn Vincent. You will learn about the key topic, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions and do some planning in the session. You will come away with knowledge you can use as soon as you next step on the floor!
Just because you hear about a strategy, doesn't necessarily mean you can put it into practice straight away.
It might be that the strategy is different to how you naturally interact with children or that it's hard to remember in the business of the day. That's ok, it's a part of adding something new to your toolkit!
But we know that these strategies are going to make a difference for the children you work with. So, for key strategies that are taught in the session, you have access to:
Explainer clips - these will break down the strategy and how it applies to the particular type of child you are supporting.
Four step plans- these will help set you up for success by making sure you've thought through the optimal experience, time of day and language to use.
Guided reflections - these will teach you ways to adjust the strategy to support the individual child based on what you've noticed once you start using the strategy.
Yes. At the moment, recordings are not shared after the session, to allow everyone to feel comfortable asking questions and participating in discussion. We try to run our sessions twice, once on the weekend and once on a weekday to hopefully capture everyone at a time they will be available.
The main workshop is only run live. Then you will have access to related resources for up to five weeks after the session.
Absolutely! Email us and we can provide you with a certificate of attendance for live sessions and a certificate of completion of online communication strategy modules.
Most live sessions will run for 1 hour, unless noted. The post-session tasks will take around an hour total, spread out over 4-5 weeks.
